Whales and dolphins, collectively called cetaceans, have been swimming in the waters of this planet for 50 million years, far longer than humans have been here. Whales have bigger brains than humans and an extra lobe that allows for smoother processing. In comparison with a human average IQ of 100, a dog has an IQ of about 15 and a chimpanzee an IQ of about 35. In comparison, a sperm whale’s IQ is about 2,000! Some spiritual teachers theorize that whales came to this planet from the Sirius B star system. Dr. Barbara Stone will talk about the magnificence of whales and her personal experiences of swimming with Humpback Whales in the wild in the Dominican Republic.
