What is Disenfranchised Grief? How to cope and when to seek help.
While grief is a familiar term, disenfranchised grief isn’t as well known. Renowned grief researcher Ken Doka defines it as grief one experiences when they incur a loss that is not or cannot be openly acknowledged, socially accepted, or publicly mourned. Ms. Anne Farley, LSW, MS Counseling, CDP will discuss specific examples of disenfranchised grief along with effective coping strategies and support resources. Whether you work with grieving clients or you’re personally experiencing grief, there is hope for better days ahead!
The program is approved for 1.0 CEUs for Ohio nurses and social workers. Join us in person or virtually on zoom!
